Air Release Agent for Water- and Solvent-Based Paints and Coatings

Borchi® Gol LA 200 is a polyether modified polysiloxane air release agent for thick layers. It is designed for use in water- and solvent-based paints and coatings. This additive solution is 100 % active and VOC-free.

Releasing air in the coating prevents defects from occurring during application and curing. Borchi® Gol LA 200 helps destroy air bubbles formed in the film during application. Borchi® Gol LA 200 provides foam control by avoiding microfoam formation at all production stages. Microfoam can cause defects throughout the film. Air release agents like Borchi® Gol LA 200 provide improvements in substrate wetting, block and scratch resistance, and slip. They also provide higher gloss and less haze in formulations. Borchi® Gol LA 200 is among our silicone-based defoamer, air release, and anti foam agents.

Borchi® Gol LA 200 is great for use in 2K-polyurethane and 2K-epoxy coatings. It prevents foam in industrial flooring, pipe, and storage tank coatings. Borchi® Gol LA 200 can also be used in decorative, automotive OEM, and automotive refinish coatings. This solution works well in spray paint applications.

Dosage

The recommended dosage is 0.05 to 0.30 % of the total weight of the formulation depending upon the binder type and which property is being addressed. The exact dosage should be experimentally determined. Borchi® Gol LA 200 is easy to use and can be added at any stage of the formulation; however, we recommend adding it near the end of the formula. Do not exceed recommended dosages to prevent intercoat adhesion issues. Borchi® Gol LA 200 should be added as supplied into the system. However, premixes for water-based formulas can be made by blending this product with polyglycol ethers. Most common solvents can be used in the premix for solvent-based systems.

Storage

Protect from the effects of weathering and light. Store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
