Borchi® Gol LA 2 LC is a polyether modified polysiloxane additive for improved flow and leveling in water- and solvent-based coating systems. This solution is 100 % active and VOC-free.  
Benefits of Polyether Modified Polysiloxane Flow and Leveling Additives
Flow and leveling agents like Borchi® Gol LA 2 LC change the surface tension in a liquid to eliminate most defects in coating systems. Defects include orange peel, craters, pinholes, and substrate wetting issues. Orange peel is the inability of a coating to overcome high surface tension issues because of varying film thicknesses, rapid solvent evaporation, and/or coating incompatibility. This results in an uneven finish. Craters are small indentations caused by poorly dispersed defoamers or contaminants such as dust or dirt caught in the film. Pinholes are air voids in the film that form as a result of poor substrate wetting, incompatibility, or air bubbles in the film. Poor substrate wetting occurs when the liquid coating fails to cover the substrate with a continuous film.

Applications
Applications include general industrial and decorative coatings. Borchi® Gol LA 2 LC works in UV cured and solvent-free systems.

Dosage

The recommended dosage is 0.02 to 0.30 % of the total weight of the formulation depending upon the binder type and which property is being addressed. The exact dosage should be experimentally determined. Borchi® Gol LA 2 LC is easy to use and can be added at any stage of the formulation; however, we recommend adding it near the end of the formula. Higher amounts may be needed in pigmented systems. Do not exceed recommended dosages to prevent intercoat adhesion issues.

Storage

Protect from the effects of weathering and light. Store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
