HEUR Rheology Modifier for the Low Shear Range

Borchi® Gel LW 44 is a non-ionic, polyurethane-based HEUR (Hydrophobically modified Ethoxylated Urethane copolymer rheology modifier) low shear range thickener for water-based coatings systems. This thickening solution is VOC-free, APEO-free, and organo tin-free.

Benefits of HEUR Thickeners for the Low Shear Range

Borchi® Gel LW 44 develops viscosity in the low shear range and does not cause yellowing or chalking in cured film. This rheology modifier should be added at low levels so the water and scrub resistance of the cured finish will not be affected.

Applications

Ideal applications include aqueous architectural and general industrial coatings.

  • Applications

    • Coatings
      • Aqueous architectural
      • General industrial

  • Dosage

    • 0.1 – 2% on total paint formulation

In some cases, pre-dilution is preferred (e.g. 1:9 in water). The exact dosage must be experimentally determined.

  • Storage

Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
