Borchi® Gel 0625

HEUR Thickener for the Medium Shear Range

Borchi® Gel 0625 is a HEUR rheology modifier (Hydrophobically modified Ethoxylated Urethane copolymer rheology modifier). This solution works well as a medium shear range thickener for improved rheological profiles in coatings. Borchi® Gel 0625 is a VOC-, APEO-, and tin-free non-ionic polyurethane-based thickener for water-based coatings.
Dual-Thickener Performance in UV Cure Formulation
In a waterborne spray formulation for UV cure, Borchi® Gel 0625 enabled simplification of the formulation by providing thickening performance comparable to two competitive thickeners

Features

  • Develops viscosity stability and improves rheological properties mainly in the medium and high shear range
  • Improved storage stability, leveling and application properties
  • Does not yellow or cause chalking in the cured film
  • VOC-free
  • APEO-free
  • Tin-free

Applications

  • Coatings
    • Brush and roller
    • E-Coat
    • General industrial
    • Automotive

Dosage

  • 0.2 – 3.0% on total formulation

The exact dosage should be experimentally determined. The best incorporation method is to add it after the pigment/filler dispersion stage but prior to being let down. Under low shear mixing conditions, a pre-dilution in water or a mixture of water/propylene glycol may be necessary for complete incorporation.

Storage

Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures between 5 and 30 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.
