Borchi® OXY-Coat 1310

Cobalt-Free Drier for DPM Solvent-Based Systems / Thixotropic Alkyd Resins

Borchi® OXY-Coat 1310 is a metal-based high-performance drier for thixotropic alkyd resins where propylene glycol can reduce viscosity. It can be used in DPM-based systems. This solution is a high-performance catalyst that is applicable in a wide range of coating systems that dry oxidatively.
Benefits of High-Performance Cobalt-Free Driers for DPM Solvent-Based Systems / Thixotropic Alkyd Resins
Borchi® OXY-Coat 1310 is a curing solution that does not contain commonly used cobalt metals that may be regulated in the future within coating applications. For example, in June 2022, the U.S. EPA prioritized Cobalt and Cobalt Compounds for risk assessment and possible regulatory reclassification.  Benefits include faster dry times, improved gloss and haze, brighter whites, non-yellowing, and the ability to be used in adverse conditions (thus extending coatings season windows for painters).
Applications
This drier is designed for use in solvent-based architectural, wood, and industrial coating applications, as well as printing inks. Borchi® OXY-Coat 1310 provides excellent drying and durability properties in wood care oils.

Dosage

All resin systems are unique and will require the level of Borchi® OXY - Coat 1310 to be optimized for best cost and dry. We recommend a ladder study of 0.5 – 3 % Borchi® OXY - Coat 1310 as supplied on resin solids. Please keep in mind that too much Borchi® OXY - Coat 1310 might inhibit through dry. The Borchi® OXY - Coat 1310 should be added as one of the last ingredients before the Anti-Skinning agent.

Storage

Protect from the effects of weathering and store at temperatures between 5 and 50 °C. Once opened, containers should be resealed immediately after each removal of the product.

Safety
