Borchers has recently welcomed Lutz Hoffmann as a new regional account manager for the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).

Lutz began his career by pursuing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering at Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. His master’s thesis covered the evaluation and improvement of adhesives for automotive windscreens in a 2K HS clear coat. After graduating from university, Lutz began working as a project manager for a major coatings company. Here, he worked on the replacement of chromate-based anti-corrosion pigments in different solvent borne primers for commercial transport systems without significant impact on adhesion, leveling, and corrosion protection. Within a few years, Lutz took on a new role as a technical service manager for a specialty chemicals distribution company. In this position, he supported coatings and adhesives customers in international markets. He was also in charge of the application laboratory. Eventually, Lutz took on the role of product development manager, in which he evaluated and implemented new products for paints and coatings, adhesives, and construction customers based on market needs and future trends. After seven years with this company, Lutz decided to join the Borchers GmbH team.

In his spare time, Lutz enjoys hiking, gardening, growing food, and playing with his cat. He is also an avid hockey fan, having played the position of goalie in his youth. His favorite team is the Philadelphia Flyers.
