Floors face a number of environmental factors that may compromise their durability and appearance. These include foaming upon production or application, cratering and other surface defects, or separation of the coating in storage.
Adding Borchers additives to floor coating formulations can help overcome these common issues.
Our floor coating additives can provide:
Borchers solutions are designed to help formulators and applicators achieve smooth, durable, and visually consistent results in industrial and decorative floor coatings.
Formulating a durable floor coating involves more than choosing the right resin or pigment. Additives play a critical role in defining how a coating performs during mixing, application, and curing.
Foaming, poor flow, or viscosity changes can compromise both quality and productivity. Additives for coatings address these challenges by improving stability, leveling, and consistency.
They also enable formulators to meet specific needs such as faster curing, better adhesion, and increased resistance to chemicals or abrasion. With the right additives, coatings can maintain both functional and aesthetic performance even in demanding environments.
Borchers additives are engineered to help formulators achieve this balance of performance, efficiency, and reliability.
Each Borchers additive is developed to address a specific performance requirement within the coating formulation.
By combining these technologies, Borchers delivers high-quality results across epoxy, polyurethane, and alkyd floor coatings.

Borchers offers a line of high performance defoamers. The Borchi® Gol, Borchi® Burst, and Borchers® AF product lines contain modified polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and non-silicone defoamers designed for water- and solvent-based coating and paint systems. Our products eliminate foaming in pumping, stirring, and grinding processes during production and formation of foam caused by brushing, rolling, or spraying during application of the paint or coating. Discover all defoamers below:

Borchers offers a range of high-performance flow and leveling additives for coatings and paints. Our Borchi® Gol product line contains modified polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and acrylic additives. Borchi® Gol products reduce the surface tension of the coating. This improves flow, substrate wetting, and slip. Many surface defects – such as fisheyes and cratering – are related to surface tension. By correcting or reducing the surface tension of coating systems and paints, most of these defects can be resolved. The benefits of our flow and leveling additives are: • Elimination of surface defects, such as fisheyes and cratering Discover all flow and leveling additives below:

Borchers offers a product line of additives for rheology modification. Borchi® Gel additives are associative and non-associative rheology modifiers for water-based coatings and paints. The Borchi® Gel product line offers low to high shear range polyurethane, acrylic, and zirconium complex thickeners to ensure optimal flow and leveling combined with anti-sag performance. Our additives have a significant influence on the storage stability and application properties of the coatings system. The benefits of our rheology modifiers are: • Significantly improved storage stability • Improved application properties • Optimal flow and leveling • Anti-sag performance Discover all rheology modifiers below:

Cobalt-free
Borchers offers Borchi® OXY-Coat and Borchi® Dragon high-performance catalysts as well as Borchi® Phoenix accelerator for all types of oxidatively drying resin systems. This product line meets stringent regulatory requirements as cobalt-free drying additives for alkyd paints.
Borchi® OXY-Coat extends the coatings season window by providing consistent paint curing performance in many weather conditions (hot or cold, dry or humid) for short, medium, and long oil alkyd systems.
Borchi® Dragon and Borchi® Phoenix are specially designed to accelerate dry performance in long oil and high solids alkyd systems; benefits include non-wrinkling with high build films and excellent film hardness.
The benefits of our high-performance catalysts include:
• Improved drying and non-yellowing performance compared to conventional
paint driers
• Non-wrinkling in thick films and high solids
• Excellent film hardness

Reduce cure times, prolong potlife, and achieve rapid hardness development with tin-free catalysts for polyurethane coatings. These catalysts are lower in toxicity compared to tin-containing solutions. Organotin compounds like dibutyltin and dioctyltin are often used as catalysts in polyurethane items. They can be found in consumer products like plastics, inks, and paints. Other organotin compounds include tributyltin and triphenyltin, which are mainly used as biocides. These can be found in anti-fouling coatings. While effective in performance, organotin compounds can harm aquatic organisms and irritate skin and eyes in humans. Some are also investigated for their endocrine-disrupting properties. Several regions have imposed regulations on organotin compounds. In the European Union (EU), some organotin compounds like dioctyltin dilaurate are listed on their Candidate List of substances of very high concern. Companies using items on this list must provide adequate safety labeling if more than 0.1% weight of an item is used. Under REACH Annex XVII restriction 20 in the EU, more than 0.1% weight of dibutyltin dilaurate is also restricted in consumer products. In Japan, the Act on Control of Household Products Containing Harmful Substances restricts the amount of tributyltin and triphenyltin used in household products like paints and adhesives. For over twenty years, the South Korean government has banned the use of tributyltin in ships and ocean vessels as anti-fouling agents.
